What time is Trump announcing tariffs? Watch president’s speech live

President Donald Trump is set to unveil his global tariffs plan Wednesday at an event in the White House Rose Garden.

You can livestream the event, which is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET, at the embedded video at the top of this page or on USA TODAY’s YouTube channel.

The Trump administration began slapping tariffs on certain imports, causing stocks to wobble in recent weeks. Wednesday’s reveal, billed by the White House as a “Make America Wealthy Again” event, is forecast to reach deeper, possibly almost all imports and many more nations.

The president’s long-awaited tariff announcement comes the same day Trump faces a possible rebuke from the Senate: Enough Republicans were expected to join Democrats on Wednesday in voting to end the emergency declaration enabling tariffs against Canada.

Last week, Trump announced a 25% tariff on imported passenger vehicles, light trucks and some auto parts. For imported cars protected by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, only the foreign parts that make up the vehicle will be subject to the tariff. Before that, the Trump administration slapped 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada, as well as 10% tariffs on imports from China.
