Takeaways from Trump’s sit-down with Time magazine
President Donald Trump sat down with Time magazine to talk everything from Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s return to ending the Ukraine war.
President Donald Trump will reflect on the first couple of months of his second term in just a few short hours.
Terry Moran, senior correspondent for ABC News, will conduct the first broadcast interview on the evening of April 29, which is Trump’s 100th day in office.
The sit-down, set to take place at the Oval Office, will air as a primetime special later this evening, according to a news release from ABC.
“Trump has taken action on a number of issues, including immigration, raising tariffs to try to restore the American manufacturing base and trying to broker peace in the three-year Russia-Ukraine war, earning praise from supporters,” ABC News said in a news release. “But he has come under fire on a number of fronts, including his economic and immigration policies and is locked in a trade war with China.”
A recent poll from NPR/PBS News/Marist suggests that Trump’s approval rating remains among the lowest for any newly elected president in over 50 years.
About 42% of adult respondents approved of Trump’s job as president in the survey, which was conducted from April 21 through April 23. The results fall roughly in line with other recent polls released by CNN and The Economist/YouGov, which each found approval ratings of 41%.
